Eleven courses sit along the Columbia Valley Golf Trail, which is a lot for a valley this size. Three of them matter most if you are staying in Invermere, and they are genuinely different from one another rather than three versions of the same round.
Best Times to Go
Copper Point, In Town
Copper Point has two courses. The Point is the championship layout — wide fairways, real elevation change, and hazards placed to make you think rather than to punish. The Ridge is the unusual one: built from full-length par 3s and 4s, so you get a proper round in noticeably less time. Good for a group with mixed patience.
Eagle Ranch, Above the River
Eagle Ranch runs along canyon bluffs above the Columbia River and the Lake Windermere wetlands. Elevated tees, big drops, and views to the Rockies on one side and the Purcells on the other. If your group is only playing one round, this is the one people talk about afterwards.
Greywolf, Up at Panorama
Greywolf sits at Panorama, about twenty minutes west. Its signature hole, Cliffhanger, asks you to carry Hopeful Creek to a green on the canyon edge. Being higher up, it opens later in spring than the valley-bottom courses.
Booking in Peak Season
July and August are busy — this is a golf destination for Calgary, three hours east. Book ahead, and take the early tee time if it is offered. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in midsummer.

The season generally runs from around mid-April to early October, with Greywolf trailing the others at both ends because of the elevation.

Valley golf is warmer than the mountain and colder than you expect first thing.

Sunscreen — the valley is higher and brighter than most people register
More water than you would take at home
Rain gear in shoulder season, when weather moves through quickly
